Pastoral Introduction
Dear Members & Friends of the First Family:
For over two years the Building Project Steering Committee has been meeting to determine the needs of the church regarding its facilities. A master plan for the future church campus was presented to the church on Sunday night, August 19th. A Capital Stewardship plan designed to raise funds to make that master plan a reality was also presented. While there are some matters regarding the master plan that need to be re-evaluated, funding was approved by the church.
Our Capital Stewardship Team has chosen His Vision . . . Our Dream as the title for our fund raising effort. The campaign theme is His Vision . . . Our Purpose. We believe God would have His church in Winton provide for the ministries that will continue on into the future – that’s His Vision, and to provide for the necessary space, facilities, and physical resources to conduct those ministries – that’s Our Dream. To work together to realize His Vision and to make Our Dream a reality is Our Purpose – we want to glorify God with our work and with our resources.
We have also chosen Proverbs 16:3 as our campaign Scripture – Commit to the Lord, whatever you do, and your plans will succeed (New International Version of the Bible). We believe if we commit to God’s vision then we will succeed in God’s plan for the church.
I ask for your prayer support as Pastor of First Baptist Church. These are exciting days for us, but they also have their challenges. We need your continued support and encouragement as we serve Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church, Winton.
